Dear Members of the Recording Academy
I’m proud to submit ‘Singalong Songs’ for your consideration in Best Children’s Music Album category this year.
This body of work was recorded at Peppermint Grove Studio in Sydney, Australia. The bulk of the work happened over two really fun days in the studio with brothers Nick and Cameron Henderson, with additional vocals and accordion parts sent by my beautiful collaborators and friends from across the sea, in New Zealand, in the weeks that followed.
My goal with this album, as always, was to create a sound that can be shared and enjoyed by the whole family, from the littlest, to the biggest. I am a bit of a nerd on the topic of music and the brain (see last track) and have been going out of my way for 10 years now to create music that gets families singing together.
I dream of long table community dinners under the trees and rambunctious singing on the front porch, and was looking to emulate that beautiful simplicity and humanity in the way we approached recording this album.
These songs were born from my work with pre school children and families, my studies and my wonderful community of children’s music makers.
Thanks ever so for your consideration!
Angie Who

LYRICS
The Chorus
What is a song?
A song can be short
A song can be long
It makes the music work
And the chorus is the part of the song
That everyone can sing
The chorus is the part of the song
That everyone can sing
And if you were a whale
You might sing it like this (whale sounds)
A song can be happy
A song can be sad
Make you feel sleepy
Or get your feet to dance
And the chorus is the part of the song
That everyone can sing
The chorus is the part of the song
That everyone can sing
And if you were a fish
You might sing it like this (fish sounds)
I Went to the City (Bicycle Song)
I went to the city and I bought some bread
I went to the city and I bought some bread
Rode it home on my bicycle
All of the bread in the basket full
I went to the city and I bought some bread
I went to the city and I bought some eggs
I went to the city and I bought some eggs
Rode them home on my bicycle
All of the eggs in the basket full
I went to the city and I bought some eggs
I went to the city and I bought some flowers
I went to the city and I bought some flowers
Rode them home on my bicycle
All of the flowers in the basket full
I went to the city and I bought some flowers
I went to the city and I found this song
I went to the city and I found this song
Rode it home on my bicycle
All of the words in the basket full
I went to the city and I found this song
I found bread and eggs and flowers and a song
Bread and eggs and flowers and a song
Bread and eggs and flowers and a song - for you!
Blowing in the Wind
Up and down blowing all around
Blowing in the wind blowing in the wind
Up and down blowing all around
Blowing in the wind blowing in the wind
Everybody’s just
Blowing in the wind blowing in the wind
Blowing in the wind blowing in the wind
High low everywhere we go
Blowing in the wind blowing in the wind
High low everywhere we go
Blowing in the wind blowing in the wind
Side to side it’s good to be alive
Blowing in the wind blowing in the wind
Side to side it’s good to be alive
Blowing in the wind blowing in the wind
Singalong Song
This is a song is a song you can singalong
This is a song you can singalong
This is a song is a song you can singalong
This is a song you can singalong
High low anywhere you go
Anywhere you go you can sing along
High low anywhere you go
Anywhere you go you can sing along
Anywhere you go
Anywhere you go
Anywhere you go
Lullaby Love
Sing with the morning
Sing with the sun
Sing with the rain
And when the rainbows come
Sing for your supper
Sing me a song
And I’ll sing you to sleep with a lullaby love
Row Your Boat (Angie’s Version)
Row row row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily merrily merrily merrily
Life is but a dream
Row row gently down the stream
Row row life is but a dream
Rock rock rock your boat
Gently to and fro
Merrily merrily merrily merrily
Down the stream we go
Row row gently down the stream
Row row life is but a dream

In your body
In your brain and your body
